Having recently seen an amateur production of We Will Rock You, I found this one equally impressive, led by strong principals whose collective talent ensured the show never lost momentum. What followed was a well-rehearsed, high‑energy performance driven by the entire cast from the opening moments to the final curtain. Each principal brought strength and conviction, ensuring the drama landed with authenticity and purpose embracing the show’s humour and rebellious spirit. Making his debut with the company, Chase Condon delivered an impressive performance as Galileo, offering clear, confident vocals. He was well matched by Nicole Thomson as Scaramouche, who displayed sharp wit and expressive acting. Together, they formed a powerful and engaging partnership. Also making her debut with the company was Alice Wylie who brought a wonderfully sassy, commanding edge to the sinister role of Killer Queen balancing theatrical flamboyance with every entrance landing with impact. Opposite her, Andrew Jamieson’s in‑depth characterisation of Khashoggi added nuance and presence to every scene he appeared in. Gregor McIntyre and Vikki McIntyre injected humour, vigour, and a welcome sense of rebellious charm into the roles of Bohemian rebels Brit and Oz. Their chemistry was excellent, and their scenes provided some spirited moments. Alan McIntyre was also in great form as Buddy, delivering a lively, entertaining performance with his interactions with the audience drawing laughter. The production team should be applauded for their collective “One Vision” in bringing this show to the stage. The creative set, designed by the gifted Production Director Susan Andrews, provided a visually striking backdrop that supported the futuristic tone and direction of the show. Jack Thomson’s meticulous Musical Direction ensured tight harmonies, and a band that complemented the entire company. Nikki McLachlan’s choreography was full of energy, giving the ensemble plenty of opportunities to shine while maintaining the show’s rock‑musical identity. This was another polished production that celebrated the music of Queen with energy, flair, and clear affection which the company should be pleased with.
