It was clear the production team had one vision for this show and they and the cast delivered it and some.

In the demanding lead role of Galileo Richard Platt gave a commanding performance with good stage presence, a clear understanding of the character and a singing voice able to cope with the complex music of Queen with ease. Well matched against him was Joanne Skilling as Scaramouche. Again, a powerful performance able deliver the songs with ease and never missing a beat in some of the more light hearted moments.

Craig Douglas gave a great performance as Buddy the wise mentor and historian for the Bohemians providing help and support to Galileo and Scaramouche on their quest providing much of the humour in the show.

Amanda Blacklock gave an assured performance in the larger-than-life role of Killer Queen with great delivery and real stage presence with a killer voice. Aided and abetted by her sidekick Khashoggi played to great impact by Ross Aitkin he captured the suave but slightly useless side of the role well.

As Brit, Stuart Mitchell, brought great energy to the role giving a well-rounded performance whilst Natalie Wright was engaging as Oz.

The ensemble in this show is kept busy in a range of roles from Gaga Girls to Bohemians and all played an integral part in the success of the production.

Vocals throughout the show from principals and ensemble were strong backed by a great rock band that never over-powered. Choreography was fresh and precise and stage direction ensured the pace never faltered. Staging was effective and lighting and costumes added to the overall atmosphere.

Well done Selkirk on delivering a show that truly rocked.
