Ester and Val are the understudies for the play ‘Waiting for Godot’, but will their time ever come.  But, as they wait back stage speaking about life and a certain vest (Waistcoat) they start to think about their future in the production.  It also turns out that they are the only people who really understand what the play is all about.

This two and sometimes three handed play had some very funny lines in it which went down well with the audience.  The two lead characters of Ester and Val were played by Jake Collyer and Alan Groucott who really jelled well as a pair and sometimes their characters reminded me of Laurel and Hardy.  I have to admire them on the big chunks of dialogue they had to learn. They were well supported by Micah Hardwick-Beckford who only joined the cast that day due to illness of the original actress. Even though she had too occasionally use a script she carried it in just as an ASM would and after a while you did not know it was there

The scenery was good, just like a back stage dressing room should be and the costumes were most relevant to the performance with a interesting display of costumes at the back of the set.

Claire Armstrong-Mills did a sterling job on this production.  Congratulations to you all.
