What a lovely piece of theatre RaTS gave their audience for VE day celebrations. Directed by Dean Caston, assisted by Faye Wyatt. Expertly put together with superb back projection, great songs and tales from this era in our history. I was born in 1944 and was aware of the bad times, but this celebration certainly brought it home what my generation missed, luckily. RaTS you excelled in bringing it back. My mum was a land girl, and I remember the stories she told me. These stories came to life by the “Lilles’ Charlotte, Joanna, Kathy and Jan, recreating their original roles in the past production of Lillies. Great ladies. Lovely clear projection from Dean and all speakers. RaTS, nothing was missed and your audience, (especially a man behind me) was up for a sing song; well he certainly got it from you all up there on stage. Special Guest RaTS Patron Nicholas Robinson, star and actor from Goodnight Mr Tom, gave us stories and a song beautifully delivered. Lighting sound and stage management were searchlight spot on. No other society could do it like you did, thank you RaTS for very enjoyable evening. I went home thinking to myself I would have hated to have been born earlier. This piece of theatre certainly showed us what happened, and we should all be grateful for those that lost their lives in making it safe for us today.
