Pantomime always brings fun, laughter and anticipation to the Clarence Hall fills with children, and is honoured with the Mayor of Crickhowell Ann Jeremiah Excitement is tangible in darkest January as this dedicated team brought sunshine into our lives once again

With more than one pantomime in this production we had a hilarious evening, so many colourful characters from Snow White, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Aladdin and The Frog Prince woven into this well directed and produced story.

A lively and charmingly dizzy Wizard from Susie Keylock tied scenes together, with her magnificent cloak and hat she swirled in and out of the action and tried her best to overcome the very Wicked  Queen a super performance by Kathy Jones. With nearly 30 cast members who all played excellent parts there were plenty of interesting scenes and a Mrs Brown look alike in Rob Jones character Widow Twanky. Rob always brings understated side splitting comedy which is very amusing he only has to walk on! Another skilful comedy man is Mike Davies as Bert Butterfingers each character he plays is different yet equally funny and is made his own. Leo Smith as Harry the Potter shone and three Witches brought a touch of amusing magic!

Every part is played with enthusiasm and is well done. Appropriate upbeat rock numbers were chosen for the energised choreographed dancers and the romantic ballads were beautifully sung

This tradition is at the heart of Crickhowell, all the local people support and help in every way, build scenery, make costumes and all the other endless tasks associated with this production. Credit must go to Director Jacqui Daniell, outstanding Musical Director Di Winter and her musicians and Choreographer Emma Evans for her original dance routines who all work as a team with the whole company to ensure success, well done Crickhowell Players.
