This Pantomime was again written by William Thomas, a talented writer, actor and Director. His original, witty and entertaining script kept the attention of the audience at all times and at all levels. There were many twists and turns in the plot and some very unexpected characters which kept the audience guessing in a well paced production. Local references were again an integral part of the script and the capacity audience enjoyed every minute. I was pleased to see many young members in the cast something so important to the future of any Theatrical Society but also some older more experienced performers. Dave Procter as Miss Betty Swollocks once again showed his comic timing and rapport with the audience, who were soon participating in the banter from the cast. Dave’s outlandish costumes were a joy to behold. Steven Johnson as Captain Blackbeard made the most of his every appearance as the evil “baddie” and showed his versatility in the role. The highlight of the evening for me was Martin Smith as an unusual, Long John Silver. His physicality, individuality and enthusiasm had us all crying with laughter. His comic timing, and dancing were first class and his handling of the parrot was hilarious. The three French Assassins Emma Smith, Francoise, Olivia Soper, Alain and Sam Soper, Gustav were excellent. All three had very good stage presence. I look forward to seeing the development of the two young ones Olivia and Sam.  All performers made good use of playing areas both on and off stage and there was a good selection of music, which together with good sound and lighting played a big part in the success of the evening. Director William Thomas ,Vicky Smith, Producer  and Musical Director/ Choreographer, Frances Lamburn are to be congratulated on another fun filled productionThank you again for a very warm welcome to my wife and myself.
