It was nice to see a different pantomime which was not one of the usual well known titles.  I must give a huge well done to Lynne Owens for stepping into the part of Squire Trelawney with a few hours’ notice due to the original cast member of Jim Smith taking ill during that day.  I hope Jim feels better for the last 2 performances.

As always it is really pleasing to see a lot of young members on stage.  The set and costumes were very colourful and I loved Polly the Parrot’s costume, played by Karen Spooner.  I enjoyed the interaction between her and Long John Silver, played by Cliff Spooner (yes they are married!) and their little duet “Me and my Parrot/Pirate”.

It was delightful to see girl pirates on board in the form of the Smugglers Cove W.I. headed by Mrs Henderson played by Dilys Hollinghurst who foiled some of Long John Silver’s attempts of doing pirate things like making people walk the plank!

Well done to all and thank you for a most enjoyable evening.
