A good production of this classic Christie-formatted play.

There was a strong cast on stage with quality performances from Janet Townes as the overbearing Lady Tressilian, to Sue Orme, a wounded ex wife, and Claire Wade as Kay, the young and current wife of Nevile Strange - a good performance by Stuart Mourton.

David Jones was convincing as Thomas Royde, Paul Makinson excelled as the knowledgeable Mathew Treves.  As a  lively boy about town, Ted Latimer was well portrayed  by Guy Evans, with Irene Thorpe credible as the down trodden companion, Mary Aldin.    Police Investigators Terry Stevenson, Martin Weston and Ric Smith completed the cast line up.

The pace could have improved on occasions, particularly in the later scenes, but this was first night and I am sure will speed up.

As always a very impressive sitting room set, true to the period, and effective lighting enhanced the production.

Without a play since 2019, it is good to see the Marlowes back bringing quality drama to the Derby stage.
