Wow ! Top of the World, an all singing and dancing performance thrilled the audience with the opening number ‘You’ve got the love’, superbly sung and danced and set the standard for the whole show. The show with vocals by soloists and chorus plus superb choreography simply fizzed along. The Harlequin Stage School dancers were wonderful as always and the choreography by Paula Dymock of such variety and beauty is simply thrilling. The quality of the nine song and dance segments, performed by the Company were created by seven different directors and all were of high standard. In addition to Harlequins the Claines C.E. Primary School also gave a wonderful performance of ‘It’s our World’ and also joined in other segments much to our enjoyment. Comedy interludes from Paul Bellamy, Richard Hulbert, Ann Mayor and a superb ‘How many shades?’ from Cath Skyrme’s impersonation of Pam Ayers was brilliant. In-house made costumes were excellent. The band under Musical Director Rick Godsall gave excellent backing to the performance. The whole show was a delight and this re-formed Society goes from strength to strength with new young performers bringing added zest and talent to a winning formula.
