Rightly described by Lynne Chambers as an improbable, looney, but charming comedy, I could not think of a better description.  The story line of a bankrupt family trying to hold on to an inheritance, and the emergence of more than one long lost relative, all with comical fake beards says it all.

The two main characters, Pete Harrison as Aubrey Allington, and Rachel Humphries as Louise Allington, played their roles to perfection.   Rachel was exactly right for the part of the scheming wife who persuades her husband to go to any lengths in order to keep an inheritance.  As her husband Pete excelled, bringing superb characterisations to his role.  His accents were brilliant, a top notch display.  Sue Cope was suitably droll as the elderly aunt, as was Trevor Chambers as Mr Chesterman, the Lawyer.  Adding to the comic mayhem, Stefan Osvath as Henery, and Paul Makinson as George were excellent foils for Pete, with ginger beards in abundance.  Good support from Ian Humphries as Sprules, the family butler, and Jo Russell as Simpson the maid. With Catherine Baker as Jean Everard who made the most of being the wife that no one knew about.  Completing a most competent cast was Pete Stevenson as Giles the Gardener, a man of few words, but like all in this wacky play,  a role full of laughs.

Performed on a very good set, this was a most entertaining evening.
