This sassy musical by Dolly Parton took us back to the 1970’s portraying the story of three female co-workers concocting a plan of revenge on the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot boss of the company, ‘Consolidated’.  The three leading ladies, Gillian Stewart, office administrator - Violet, Fiona MacCallum Knox, the big-boobed Texan with a brain - Doralee and Stephanie Barclay as new start – Judy, were all perfectly suited to the roles providing a solid trio, in particular in the drug scene when they each sang and danced their own scenario Dance of Death; Cowgirl’s Revenge; and Potion Notion. Lewis Brown was also well cast as the despicable character the audience loved to hate as company boss, Franklin Hart jnr.  There were many hilarious moments throughout the show in particular between secretary and office snoop Roz through her infatuation for Hart as well as scenes with the trio of ladies, all collectively displaying great comedic timing. Other principal roles were equally well cast with Iona McHugh playing the inebriated office member Margaret, Kevin Rodgers as Joe the understanding Accountant, Daniel Connolly Doralee’s supportive husband Dwayne and Dave Crozier as the company Chairman Mr Tinsworthy who recognised the ability of the trio in improving productivity which triggered Hart being transferred to the company’s operation in Bolivia.  Those in other minor principal roles provided great performances as did all in the ensemble through song and dance. Scene changes were seamless and talented musicians in the orchestra supported the overall production.  With plenty of gags and a revenge story the company provided a thoroughly enjoyable evening’s entertainment which I am sure all in the company including the production team will be pleased with.
