This atmospheric Christmas concert showcased the talent of their Senior Youth Theatre section. There was a real cross section of music which delighted with their versatility of voice beginning with a lovely arrangement of Holy Night sung by Layla Rutkiewicz, Sylvie Wyzgowski, Katlyn McLay and Patrycji Sciegienna, followed by well paced duets with Evan Steel and Niamh Cunningham singing Put A little Holiday in your Heart, Cohen Gurung and Evan Steel with Mistletoe and Katlyn McLay and Layla Rutkiewicz. with Baby Please Come Home. Soloists thrilled with some difficult music and keys, singing from traditional to modern cabaret songs with the likes of Cohen Gurung and Home and Faye Campbell and Hallelujah. The ensembles/groups harmonised beautifully over a range of songs like Angels In The Snow and Stay Another Day. The whole cast songs, from the start and leading up to the run of music to the finale - Dancing in December, Step Into Christmas and then finishing with Seasons of Lov- gave a collective show of good singing and movement. In addition monologues were successfully presented by Eva Wilson and Bobbie-Jo Marston, drama included scenes in What Christmas Means To Me in the first half and later Home For Christmas and the Party Time Scene with Kayla Stark and Val Wyzgowski. All movement was undertaken confidently and cleverly, interpreting the emotions of the songs. The dancers, especially the Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy and Jonas Brothers - Like it’s Christmas moved easily. Everyone managed their routines and acrobatic turns really well on the carpeted area. There was some interesting and inventive choreography occasioned partly by the restricted space at the front of the church. Indeed the Church was a new venue for the group and its acoustics aided the festive atmosphere. The younger sections contributed too, dressed in festive green. Everyone there appreciated the skills on display and went home satisfied after a stirring take on the Christmas season.
