This youth production was a show with full-on enthusiasm,  fun,  and entertainment.

The talented cast were led by Beth Ward, who gave a superb performance as Dorothy.  This young lady, sang wonderfully,  acted well, and danced her way up the Yellow Brick road with great confidence.   She is certainly someone with a great future ahead.  Not to be overshadowed, the trio of Oliver Ridgway  (Scarecrow),  Robert McAuley  (Tinman)  and Josh Jones  (Lion), worked exceptionally well together,  interpreting their parts well and extracting the comedy content to the limit.  There were also good performances from Elise Thornhill as the Wicked Witch of the West, and Abbie Harper as Glinda.   Emily Scott and Matthew McAuley were effective as Aunt Em and Uncle Henry,  with Izzy Broadley playing the unpleasant Almira Guitch with aplomb,  Other cast members of note were Ryan Phelps as Professor Marvel,  and Daniel Jones as the Wizard himself.  The rest of the youthful cast played Kranky Trees, Crows, Monkeys,  Jitterbugs,  Winkies and Emerald City Citizens with gusto,  helping to make  this `Wizard of Oz` a hit.

A colourful set, with striking use of back projection, and bright effective costumes, allied with an excellent orchestra, completed the formula for a good night`s entertainment.

Congratulations to all the production team.  Finally a brilliant performance by Osca as Toto, the audience loved him.
