In over 26 years as a NODA Regional Representative I have only seen this musical on one occasion previously. This particular production was full of energy and vitality with very pleasing solo numbers from the principals and excellent support from the chorus members. The dance routines were slickly performed with especially deft tap movements. The set was excellent for this show and the stage crew worked well with the scene changes. The twenties costumes were delightful. Vicky Toward gave a pleasing portrayal of Millie Dilmount with Catherine Hughes playing Miss Dorothy Brown to nigh on perfection. Tim Smithson and Abbie Rogers were responsible for rmuch of the comedy as Ching Ho and Bun Foo. They coped extremely well with the Chinese dialogue; I was relieved there was a translation above the stage for those of us who are not so well up in these things. Michael Green was very credible as Jimmy Smith. Just occasionally I felt the band was a tad too loud. However, my overall impression was of a well-rehearsed musical with plenty for the audience to applaud. Well done.
