Director Mary Gallacher brought out all the fun of Millie and with a very large cast of principals and chorus making an enjoyable evening. The main character played by Clare Salter (Millie) was excellent portraying the fun loving girl who just wanted to fall in love and get married. Her boss Darren Cope (Trevor Graydon) was hilarious when wooing Katie Luff (Miss Dorothy). Jason McCann (Jimmy) was in love with Millie, all to no avail, played his part in a very professional manner. Hilary Harwood (Mrs Meers) owner of the Hotel Priscilla who preyed on lonely girls and was responsible for the trading of the girls and sending them to Hong Kong was suitably sinister. Her servants Sean Lyttle (Ching Ho) and David Dray (Bun Foo) had the difficulty of speaking Chinese but managed very well Sue Sillett (Muzzy) showed her experience both singing and acting as did Sharon Dalton (Miss Flannery) head of the typing pool, her dancing was truly professional. The chorus supported the cast well and all gave a very creditable performance. Bob Good conducted the orchestra at the back of the stage in a very competent manner performing the 1920 music in keeping with the era. Jennifer Baxter well drilled her dancers much to the delight of a full housePaul Furlong & Chris Morley design of a New York Scene was excellent constructed by Chris Morley, Richard Wells and Alexander Lyon.
