Adapted by Peta Duncombe from Joan Atken's children's story, this was a truly delightful play for an audience of any ages to enjoy. For the first time this play featured puppetry; a trio of geese! Congratulations to the puppeteers on their contribution. The excellent set was of a multi-purpose design showing a variety of venues while changing the props as required. Shadow puppets were used to complement the changes. This was a clever ruse. The costumes were a real credit to those responsible for them. I feel there were just slightly fewer  adult members of the society taking part than youngsters. Most of them played a couple of roles and did so very well. The two young central characters of the play: Bethany Jenkinson and Lauren Paul as cousins Bonnie and Sylvia Green, deserve a special mention as does Keele Markland as Simon the goose boy. The other youngsters taking part played a variety of roles including a group of orphan girls. Many of these youngsters took turns in revealing the narrative about the action from time to time, This ploy worked very well. Congratulations on a most entertaining production.
