To say that this was the first main production for the youth section of this society you could not tell, the cast really worked well and part of a team.  I had the pleasure of seeing Team Yellow Brick Road, but what I did find gratifying was that the other team, Team Ruby Slippers, sat on either side of the stage and sang in the chorus numbers, thereby ensuring that every member of the youth section was involved.

Leading Team Yellow Brick Road was Millie Johnson as Dorothy.  Very talented and a lovely singing voice.  Supporting her were Alfie Macbeth (Scarecrow), Bella Quigley (Tin Man) and Ava Jackson as the Cowardly Lion.  A good team.  I also enjoyed the performance of Imani Williams as the Wicked Witch.  I wish I had space to mention everyone in this talented cast, but I feel I must congratulate Mason York as Toto.  He stayed in character all the way through the production and must have been hot in the costume he was wearing.    Also, congratulations to the real Toto, Wilma the dog, so well behaved and a real star.

The costumes the cast wore were good and stood out.  The scenery, though minimal, was effective and just supported the cast who put the story over well.

As I said at the start, this was the youth sections first stand-alone production and OK we lost the sound sometimes, but this did not put the audience off or my appreciation of the production.

Thank you for the invite, I would not have missed it, and I look forward to the next.
