This was a challenging production with its virtually all female cast but it worked and the characterisations of all involved were impressive.  The Wizard of Oz is such a well known tale but this new take on it came over well - I must admit that I found some of the lyrics very repetitive (but I guess that's me being old fashioned!).  Shana Edwards played the part of Dorothy with great charm - an excellent performance (not forgetting the delightful Alfie who played Toto as if born to the part).  Sue James as Scarecrow, Ann Taylor as Tin Man and Manda Bloxham as Lion were just as one would expect them to be - they all took us through the story with Dorothy in great style.  The rest of the cast and the lovely chorus of Munchkins, Emerald City Citizens and Winkies were a great support as were the Band directed by Margaret Farmiloe.  Lovely scenery which was ideal for the small stage and everyone looked great in their costumes provided by the cast, their own Wardrobe and Shar Turnbull.  Also, a good programme with some very nice colour photos.  As usual, a lot of work had gone on backstage supporting Director Sylvia Elder, Musical Director Margaret Farmiloe and the whole cast - well done everyone!
