From the opening chorus ‘Eastwick Knows’, I knew I was going to be entertained and I was not disappointed. Set in the tiny New England town of Eastwick, Rhode Island, which is ruled over by the bossy Felicia Gabriel and her down-trodden husband Clyde, who were very well cast and both gave excellent performances, well done Karen Fay and Paul Atkinson.
The three witches without a man dream and gossip about their dream man, soon a new man comes to town with the impact of a whirlwind and charm that almost beggars belief, sex is his game and in turn he seduces Alex, Jane and Sukie, wonderfully played by Holly Brown, Mandy Doherty and Claire Savage. They were excellent in their individual roles but together they were amazing, the chemistry between them was superb.
What can I say about the performance given by Robbie Love as Darryl except brilliant, I enjoyed all of the songs he was involved in, especially ‘Dance With the Devil’, and the seduction scenes were great, while his physicality when been tortured through the Voodoo doll was very impressive. All the supporting cast were strong, Michael and Jennifer provided a youthful innocence, well done. All the ensembles were good, ‘Dirty Laundry’ scene was very effective. The witches looked great flying. All the production team are to be congratulated on a powerful, sexual and thoroughly enjoyable show and as always a very good orchestra. Thank you.
