The Witches of Eastwick

~~This production celebrated the society’s eighty first year and what a show to choose.  Pete Beck led the company with great gusto as Darryl Van Horne.  Was he a charmer or the devil?  He was well supported by Lucy Surtess, Vickie Belcher and Elisa Gorle as the three bored housewives. His sidekick Fiedel, outstandingly played by Dan Anktell was a joy to watch. Even though he did not speak until the end of the production.  Good support came from Milly Sophie Rose (Jennifer Gabriel) and Michael Spofford as Chris Buckle.  Ed Hill and Sally winters played Clyde and Felicia Gabriel, in roles surely made for them.  The music was fast and upbeat while the orchestra, under the direction of Sheila Person, were well balanced.  Chorus movement and chorography were well performed.  The set looked good and the lighting, especially the thunder and lightening effects were outstanding.  I really enjoyed the ‘Dirty laundry’ and ‘Dance With the Devil’ numbers.  Sally Baxter’s production moved with pace.  Which this show required.  Well done SCMTC and here’s to the next 80 years.
