This play opened with a brilliant set of beautiful furniture, with conservatory doors leading to the garden. Here we meet Stephen Febble who is awaiting the dreaded arrival of his daughter and her family and a dog who is completely untrained as regards the toilet facilities. Stephen is played by popular actor Peter Phillips who delivers his lines to perfection all in the Monty Python tradition. Enter his wife Virginia played with patience by Lesley McMaster who is looking forward to seeing the family. The family do arrive complete with dog to the horror of Stephen wit h their granddaughter, who typified the teenager of today, played by ................. To top it off his neighbours also pop in to inform everyone of the local traffic problems among other topics.
There is an authentic dinner table beautifully laid for the meals all catered for by company members and the furniture is very upper class and adds to the atmosphere.
However the star of this play must be Peter Phillips who delivers his lines with relish and in true Michael Palin tradition. The pace never faltered and we must congratulate this Company for their true professionalisms and all thanks to Ian Quickfall well known in Region 12 as a popular actor and musical performer.
