This play by Michael Palin is one of the funniest productions I have seen, and congratulations to the directors Wendy and Janet in using every ounce of comedy to great effect.   A weekend family gathering with varying forthright opinions is something that we can all identify with, but not to the limit of the Febbie family and friends in this hilarious production.

Martin Illston, as Stephen Febbie completely stole the show with a wonderful performance as the bombastic, cantankerous, husband.  His comic timing was first class and the audience were in stitches at the outrageous observations that peppered his accomplished acting.  Andrea White, as his long-suffering  wife Virginia, was equally convincing in her attempts to placate her husband.  They complimented each other superbly and deserve great credit for their performances.

I liked Chris Davies, as Alan, the son in law who was boringly  droll with his passionate knowledge of every road and its number.  Playing Stephen`s unassuming friend Duff, Rob Hodkinson, was quietly effective.  Suzi Illston, was believable  as Bridget, Duff`s wife,  suspected of having an affair with `Foot Specialist` Hugh Bedales, played most effectively by Mark Pardner.  Completing the impressive line-up were Jenny Cooper,  Tilly Lenton,  and Linda Cheshire,  and not forgetting Tinker as Pippa the dog .

This was a very good play, well performed, on an excellent set, maintaining the high standards the `Marlowes` are known for.
