The Stolen Princess

Tim Hinchliffe what have you done to Pantomime? You directed “The Stolen Princess for Lindley Players with such professionalism, choosing your perfect cast, and so many of them. I sat in my seat thinking to myself how can I review this with so many in the cast; they all need a mention so I’m not going to try. All give yourselfs a pat on the back, the audience loved you all, and so they should, there is so much talent up on that stage…SUPERB!!!!! The Silent Princess is the best Pantomime I have seen in my area since panto season started in December and I still have three to go.

The concept of this panto is fabulous, capturing characters from other pantos and imprisoning them. Excellent!  Tim you brought out the best in your cast, from buttons to the villagers and dancers (dancers that can deliver lines) and little Emily Mumford as Neep - great. The camaraderie between you all was next to none and you all looked as if you were enjoying yourselves, and it spilled over the footlights into the audience, back in row D I felt it, I don’t get that much nowadays.

Costumes bright and colourful. Well-designed set. Lighting plot was good as was the sound, I could hear all that was sung and said and perfect balance, well done to sound crew, this sometimes fails when one uses backing tracks. Ellie Simmonds and Keeley Sanderson gave up some lovely Choreography executed nicely by the dancers and villagers. What I also particularly liked was this panto wasn’t overloaded with long solos and huge chorus numbers; it made the whole thing so slick.

Lindley Players I cant thank you enough for inviting my guest and me, I wouldn’t have missed this for the world, and I nearly did. That’s another story!! Good luck with the rest of the run, this is a pantomime you should be very proud of, all the elements of pantomime were there.
