The Sound of Woodseats

Once Again we were delighted to see Woodseats perform their most recent musical showcase. Having performed for a number of years at Lees Hall GC this year they now start a new association with Crookes Social Club, a spacious room with tables set out along with tastefully lit table numbers, free programs and plenty of space for their audience to enjoy. The showcase being slightly earlier in the year and previously often with a seasonal theme , this year took on a theme of Heroes and Villains  taken from the widest selection of Musicals old and new alike. 

The production team of Maddie , Lucy and Adam must not only be complemented but also delighted with the outcome. New venue , never easy along with a cast of around 30 . The selection of songs from solos to duets, small group and full ensemble were well thought out providing the widest genre for the performers to deliver and the audiences to enjoy. 

The simplicity of staging worked really well in particular utilizing the considerable width to full advantage. This report being quite minimalist takes nothing from the outstanding results this showcase achieved. Not a time for singling out people by name but delighted that so many had the opportunity to personally showcase their abilities with solo lines, solo songs but also within the group numbers where clever balancing of voices came over really well. The effective black and white clothing theme, with the odd accessory, worked and visually looked excellent. 

Your front of house team were most welcoming and adding to a most memorable afternoon of musical theatre enjoyment.
