The QUEST Thing since Sliced Bread

 

 

Congratulations to all involved with this family friendly adventure comedy, which was so well received by audience members of all ages. The piece was written, Directed and Produced by two young members Laura Nickson and Charlie Hinkley and they have used their skills to bring us a highly original and imaginative Quest Adventure.

Our attention was immediately captured when a mysterious cloaked figure ran through the audience and onto the stage. He had a menacing demeanour and was clearly the villain of the piece.Five identical letters had been forwarded to a Butcher, a Pirate, a Psychic, a Magician and a Snooty Lady inviting them to take part in a “Quest for Treasure”. All had to work together and as the play progressed we discovered that all had more in common than they realized.

The cast worked so well together and their enthusiasm and commitment to the piece was first class.I was particularly impressed by the music chosen by Charlie Hinkley and Frances Lamburn, Choreographer, has produced some slick routines, which can be difficult on the small playing area.

Atmospheric Lighting and Sound enhanced the action and the set was simple but effective. Costumes, accessories and make-up were appropriate for each character and all on stage appeared to be enjoying the experience.

The various characters were well cast and all were completely immersed in their roles and showed good timing, projection and diction.Congratulations to all involved, especially the Production Team, who have ensured another successful Show.     It is so important for the future of “Theatre” that youngsters are given the opportunity to show their talents, as soon as possible and this excellent Society make sure that they get this.

I always enjoy my visits to this talented Society where my wife and myself are always given a very warm welcome.
