It is easy to forget that The Pajama Game has such a wealth of well- known musical numbers and it was good to see it back on stage in Fife. There were some memorable performances from the principals. Helen Knowles excelled as Babe. Very believable in character, her singing was outstanding and she played the part with great attack. Andrew Doig was an able match voice-wise as Sid. Raymond Young was a larger than life Hines with Ruth Anderson a good Gladys. Philip Ponton created a very believable Old Man Hasler and Jude Vandecasteele made a strong Mabel. Other principals all played their parts well. I did thoroughly enjoy Sandy Green’s interpretation of Pop. Musically, the show was very strong and the smaller orchestra produced a great sound. Chorus work was well executed and featured some inventive choreography. The production flowed along very smoothly and was well received by audiences.
