It’s the youth groups, which are the future of amateur theatre, and with the talent in this company amateur theatre is safe for many years to come.  From start to finish this production was full of life.  We had baddies; Prince John (Tony Foxall) and the Sheriff of Brownhills (Deborah Allen).  Then we had the goodies, Robin Hood (Matthew Pettifor) and Maid Marian (Emily Gavill).  The story is set in the village of Brownhills where residents have to work to pay the taxes set by Prince John.   Robin Hood and his merry band fight to rescue the people of Brownhills and he also tries to mend his relationship with Marian.  The choreography was well done and the musical director, Ian Windsor, did a fine job of keeping the company together.  The scenery was projected and really looked good.  Principals and villagers alike worked really well together.  I feel I must mention those members of the company who shone, for me.  Callum Lerigo and Matt Trembling as the dames, ‘Morecambe and Wise’ really made a great pair.  And as for Natasha Pearce as Little Joan, where did they find her.  How can you get so much energy and such a big voice for one small package?

Well done Spotlight and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
