Congratulations to Crewe Amateur Musical Society on celebrating their Ninety years serving the community with many great musicals at the Lyceum in Crewe, The recent concert held at the Civic Hall In Nantwich hit the stage with the wow factor how stunning everyone looked in their finery engulfed by a proscenium arch in the same colours of black and red and a star back cloth absolutely stunning. My sincere congratulations to Ann Sleigh for organising such a tremendous concert, an accomplished Musical Director and actress in her own right, serving many companies both in Crewe and Nantwich and further afield in her native Potteries also many companies in around the Cheshire area. The continuity of such a well thought out concert was faultless, whisking the audience around the world on a whistle stop tour with singing and dancing on route. There were some wonderful performance from soloists and company alike too numerous to mention in detail, but I will highlight outstanding performances that of Frank Millward with More I cannot Wish you from Guys and Dolls who held the audience in the palm of his hands well done. Matt O’Donnell with Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar, absolutely tremendous performance. Linda Race & Darren Thornhill singing Wunderba landed on our ears like a dream; a beautiful rendition. Well done to everyone for a wonderful evening’s entertainment
