Masqueraders Theatrical Society performed the classic CS Lewis The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe which follows the story of 4 children who travel to the mystical world of Narnia.

The Humans

The Children of Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter were very well played and carried the show well; in particular Lucy had a lovely voice.

Mrs Macready (Karen Day) had a small but well executed role.  King Peter (Louis Dunderdale), Queen Susan (Lee-Ann Wills), King Edmund (Jason Read) and Queen Lucy (Gemma Cunningham) all had small but effective roles.

The People of Narnia

Mr Beaver (Richard Yates) and Mrs Beaver (Jenny Chappell) are always a pleasure to watch and this was no exception.  Tumnus (Kyle Johnson), Maugrim (Gemma Cunningham), Rumblebuffin (Freja Brabazon) were all executed to a good standard and enjoyable to watch.  There was also a small nicely played part of Christmas (Christopher Kavanagh).

Grumpskin (Erin Broadhurst) - sidekick to the White Witch - was excellent and very funny.  The White Witch (Katy Lloyd) was fabulous in the role and her evil laugh certainly made a few jump!

Aslan was effectively played by David Adey (Voice), Louis Dunderdale (Head), Jane Udall (Front Legs),  Louise Broadhurst (Rear Legs), although it did not look easy to carry the body of Aslan!

Mike Chappell (Director) stood in as The Professor in the performance as unfortunately Christopher Kavanagh was delayed.  Mike did extremely well and it is a credit to his experience and professionalism that he was able to step in at such short notice.

The chorus had various roles to play and carried out the movement required with ease.

Once again the technical and stage aspects of the show were innovatively  done although left the stage a bit exposed during some scenes.
