A very useful and practical set looked good to set off the play to advantage, and provided all the needed acting spaces in the rather quirky hous Director Wendy Ellis brought together an interactive cast to fill all those characters that we know from the film and need to complete the story.

As Mrs Wilberforce, the lynchpin of the plot, Tabi Paternoster bent her body into the aging, changed pace length, and transformed appearance to become the correct age, and suited her vocal range to the role, she definitely could not be forced to change her mind on anything.  A nice relationship brought out with Constable McDonald (Ian McDonald) as she explains the convoluted plot and his tolerance of time wasted.

The ill-matching gang, recruited and led by the Professor, David Atkinson who was big and breezy and in command with a plan, just came together, sometimes unwillingly.  The scarf almost too long even for the humour.   Peter Harrold as the Major gave, as usual, a well defined and well thought characterisation that was strongly carried.  As the ‘porter’ Harry, Peter Fiddling certainly took advantage of all situations in his role to the full (understand that he has moved across Norfolk from Watlington Players).  Martin Drummond as One Round had the feeling and support for the lady in a nice way, struggled with his cello, did not always understand what was required as a gangster in this plan, not certain that physically I could imagine him as boxer retired.   And Adam Sewell definitely looked the part of the ‘almost mafia’ Louis with his temperament and excitable character that really wanted to be in control, a good portrayal maintained.  However it is the blend of personalities and the interactions as they try to carry out the ‘perfect’ robbery and get away with it that is the mainstay of this piece, and how successful the finish line with the lady winning.
