The Kingfisher

~~This delightful play is set in the late 70’s in the garden of Sir Cecil Warburton and, even though it only has three actors in it, was well directed by Mavis Atkinson.  Rob Alexander as the Butler, Hawkins, had some good one-liners.  David Bligh as Cecil and Myra Mitchell as Evelyn kept the audiences attention portraying their affection for each other beautifully.   Will Evelyn finally marry Cecil after just burying her husband?  We had to wait until the end to find out.  The cast were very convincing acting on a very detailed garden set created by the Sutton Arts team.  This play displays a gentle humour, which Mavis brings over in her characters.
