This Production, the 12th of the operettas by Gilbert & Sullivan was well staged by this company.

Mark Ellse (Marco) and Pail Wozniak (Giuseppe) led the company well as 'The Gondoliers'. They were well supported by Janet James (Gianetta) and Sharon Tozer (Tessa).  All four sang and performed well together well.  These main four principals were supported well by John Hindle (Luiz). Kate Wilson (Casilda), Phil Howard as the Duke and Deborah Webb as The Duchess.

I was impressed by the strong chorus not only the singing but their movement.  It was also good to see some of the members who had been in the company for some time having solo parts.  I also enjoyed hearing the Choctua, which the audience joined in with.  A good ending to the production.  Another member with a good stage presence was Robert Mead as Don Alhambra.  I wish his role had been larger.  The company has a good compliment of men and it was good to see them all used.

Costumes were bright and the set, through minimal, worked well.  With a good sounding orchestra this was a production no G & S fan should have missed.
