~~This production, directed by Stephen Duckham was a pleasure to watch. Based on the popular British film, the musical takes place in Buffalo New Jersey where a group of men aspire to become the local Chippendales. This production had a strong cast led by Chris Ranger as Jerry in a part surely made for him. Chris played well against Mark Heath as Dave. With great support from the rest of the team Rob Fusco, Mark Walsh, Rob Bateman and Dave Foxx. Luke Flaherty as Jerry’s son Nathan gave a good solid performance. Claire J Smith (playing Jeanette) as piano playing rehearsal pianist gave, for me, a strong and great performance. Maria Raymond, Mary Dunn and Michelle Worthington we good in their supporting roles. Sally Joliffe’s choreography was well executed. The set, through simple, stood out, as did the silent scene changes. David Easto led a good sounding orchestra. The sound quality was as good as ever and you could hear every word from the stage.
Thank you BMOS for a wonderful evening’s entertainment.
