~This was a funny play by Tim Firth, the story is set in a school around the Christmas term with the cast all play seven year old children doing the Christmas Nativity at their school, each ‘child’ has their own style and story to be told, and they each show bits of their parents idea’s and views in the way they behave while they are talking.
They all sing the Christmas songs but with different words, which was very funny. It’s very hard to pick out any one cast member as they all played their parts very well, and they have been beautifully cast, each brought out the comedy in all the lines, but I did like Donkey, the head (mask) was very well made. The costumes are very good and the stage is set up very well with simple bits of set just like a school.
Later in the play when the School Nativity ends the parents all start chatting together after the show, and you see how and why the children do and act the way they do as the cast come back on to play their parents.
It's always go to see the audience reaction during and at the end of the play and I can saftly say they all seemed to enjoy the play and were laughing in the right places. A great night out was had by all. Thank you.
