It's always very enjoyable to visit Edenbriges Players. Once again Edenbrige, your set was designed for a small stage and was very workable. I very much liked the drop in to depict the theatre inside with great artwork and in period.

Andrew Dore as Director, you gathered a good cast of actors to give this production of John Osbourne’s The Entertainer new life, and you should be proud of them as I’m sure you are. First produced in 1957, it could have be dated, but this cast and staging brought it back to life. This being due to a great set, props, wardrobe, lighting and sound, all brought together on the night by Stage Manager Caroline Newman.

Steve Jones as Archie Rice lead this cast with a good knowledge of the part, as did his wife Phoebe played by Maxine Ledger. Leslie Hawkins as Billy, Arche’s dad, was suitably cast. Jean, Archie’s daughter, played by Emily Parr had good understanding of the part and a geat performance, as did her brother Frank Rice, Charlie Edelstan. There were moments of panic in the dialogue but being seasoned actors they coped and got out of it successfully. Other cameo parts were played by David Roberts as William Rice, Andrew Spear as Graham Dodd, Karen Lynch as Britannia, Alison Powell as Angel 1, and Angel 2 played by Denise Taylor, and young Liam McNulty as Micheal Rice, who I must say looks very much like Josh O'Connor the actor from his programme photo.

This cast gave us (your Audience) a great night at Edenbridge players. Thank you so much for inviting me. I'm looking forward to your next play, Present Laughter. Congratulations to all involved – including your lovely team in the box office, auditorium and bar. A very informative and wonderfully designed programe by Andrew Dore was good reading and easy to read in the hall, great layout. Keep up the good work Edenbridge Players, bringing good community theatre to my area.
