This play, superbly acted and staged by Sutton Arts members is a modern play with a fresh feel.
The show revolves around the lead character of Christopher, age 15, and a book he is writing. Because he is autistic he can tell no lies and see’s the world in his special way. Taking the lead in a production like this was very taxing and very graphic and the actor was never off stage. The character was totally believable and Maxim Adderley gave a fantastic performance.
The book which Christopher had written was read by his teacher, Siobhan and Liz Plumpton gave a great performance. I felt that looking at this piece it was a play within a play. Good support came from Richard Clarke and Jayne Lunn as his father and estranged mother. I felt that the cast of ten worked really well together along with a very well-behaved Luna.
The set was very effective. Made out of cubes, and sometimes used to store items of costume and props, they were used to there up most. The lighting really gave a good mood to the production especially with the moon projected on the rear of the stage.
Thank you for the invite to this memorable performance.
