This was the second production, within 6 weeks, by this company, but as it was using the older section of the group plus adults, as principals, this is not classed as a youth production.

The set worked well on the small stage and lighting added mood, it was a big cast with lots of costumes. All scene changes were done by the cast as part of the action. The songs were sung to backing tracks.

Anna used her cast to create mood and pace and lots of movement. The peak of dance was the Tango routine. All the company knew exactly where they were going, and they showed good energy.

The stand-out performances were by Charles Clarke as Gomez and Liberty Taylor as Morticia. This was their final performance before going off to college. These two had everything in strong acting, good characterisations and they were vocally powerful. We wish them all the best in their future.

The rest of the family was well cast, with fun from Fester played by Finn Richardson-Gunn, and from Zelda Rolfe as Grandma, some good comedy.

Sam Nuttall as Pugsley worked well with Grandma and with sister Wednesday, played by Holly Hudson, who had a good relationship with Gomez and with Lucas (Shane Davenport) in the love plot. Thomas Beer as Mal and Lily Kerby as Alice were another excellent couple.  Alice’s performance of Waiting, always a showstopper, was terrific.

Good projection and well-rehearsed movement throughout from this cast and they all had fun on stage in this musical comedy.

Thank you for inviting me to see the show.
