The show is based on the characters featured in the American cartoon, ‘The Addams Family’, who retained their affinity for all things macabre.  David O’Brien made a fine Gormez, and was joined by Jenny Keegan as his beloved wife Morticia.  Together they presented an excellent ‘Tango De Amor’.  Liam McKinstray gave a highly entertaining performance as the singing and dancing showman, Uncle Fester who, with the female Ancestors, brilliantly performed the numbers ‘But Love’ and ‘The Moon and Me’.  Amy Love provided the ultimate ‘Princess of Darkness’ – Wednesday Addams, in love with the ‘normal’ Lukas Beineke played by Nicola Young, with Jennifer Greenhill and Gary Young as parents Alice and Mal.  Andrew Rae was typecast as the misfit Lurch and Frankie Johnston and Emily Boustead performed well as Grandma and Pugsley, son of Gormez and Morticia.  All the principals blended with the Ancestors.  Costumes and make-up all enhanced the characterisation throughout.  Musical numbers were well choreographed and although many of the numbers are not well known, they blended into the story and were very well presented by the entire company.  This production marked the 50th Anniversary of the company and I look forward to future productions.
