It is a very rare occasion when I am stuck for superlatives to commend a show – but tonight was one of these occasions!

Each and every one of the principals, Gomez Addams (Mitch Scott-Bell), Morticia (Kendra Laird), Wednesday (Eva Swankie), Pugsley (Gillian Campbell), Fester (Colin Bruce), Grandma (Jane Campbell), Lurch (Andrew Kyle), Lucas Beineke (Jonathan Pimentil), Alice (Stephy Campbell), and Mal (Steve Pimentil) gave outstanding performances.   Much as I would love to highlight one or two moments in the show, I feel it would be unfair to do so! Suffice to say, you each gave your own fine moments which culminated in tonight’s production!

Musically, this would be a case study for others to base their principal performances on!  The chorus, too were of an equivalent quality, not only in their singing but in their stage presence and choreography.   One particularly memorable use of the chorus was in “Full Disclosure” when each chorus member was equipped with a practical candelabra and their choreographed movements were just a delight.

Technically, the show did not disappoint, all aspects being appropriately gloomy!   The set, in shades of grey, worked so well, starting with the outside of the house which opened – in view – to form the house interior, complete with a sweeping staircase which was used to the full.   Lighting was well conceived, which although gloomy in nature, maintained a balance whereby faces could always be seen.   Sound and sound effects were excellent too!   Congratulations to all of your Production Team!

Is there anything left to say?   -  Yes! “Well done SAMS!”

Thank you for inviting us along to see your dysfunctional family!
