It was good to see a full house in the beautiful Rosehill Theatre, and what an enjoyable evening it turned out to be.

The Addams Family was a new show to me and, although not my favourite, was very well executed by the company. The set, although simple in design, along with the lighting was very atmospheric. The scene changes were quick and well handled by the cast, so there was a good pace throughout. The band was well led by MD Mike Ames, although it was enough for the small theatre, other instruments may have given the production more atmosphere. The Costumes from Northern Costume Hire were excellent, and a special mention must go to the makeup department.

There were some very good performances from the principals, I thought Laura McCarten as Morticia was excellent, her singing was good and her acting convincing. Aron Armstrong as Gomez was also very good, he held the story together very well. James Last as Uncle Fester was excellent, he brought superb comedy to the production, never once coming out of character. All the other leading roles were well played, and it was a very good ensemble all round. Choreography was good, well done Tracy McOuat. Congratulations to Director James Last who brought this energetic production together.

Thank you to all the Company for a very enjoyable evening.
