From the first moment, the audience were drawn into the undead world of The Addams Family, the set looked good but what really worked, for me, was the excellent lighting, which really set the mood. Movement of the scenery was well covered and hardly noticeable.

The family's world is turned around when their daughter Wednesday meets Lucas Beineke, a normal boy from a normal family. When his family are invited over to The Addams house for dinner everything happens. Tom Lafferty and Karrise Willetts played Lucas and Wednesday well. Leading the company were Mark Skett and Beth Hooper as Gomez and Morticia Addams, the chemistry between them worked well. Mark was hardly off the stage but did not put a foot out of place. Jack Dolaghan supported well as their son Pugsley as did Kate Dyer as Grandma. Uncle Fester is a well known character and he was played with plenty of weirdness by Andy Hooper. James Dolaghan played the grunting family butler, Lurch, but we did finally get to hear him sing at the end of the production, which was a bonus. Great performances as well came from Megan Daniels – Alice and Richard Parry - Mal, Lucas's parents.

The costumes were good and I must congratulate Maggie Moriarty on her choreography, especially with the large chorus numbers. Tim Harding led orchestra well, but I did feel at times they were a bit to loud and over powered the singing on stage.

Well done to directors Pam and James Garrington. They did a first rate job.
