The Addams Family

Everyones favourite spooky family were on stage with the local premier of the spectacular musical comedy The Addams Family. From the pen of the award winning team that bought us the Jersey Boys Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.

The Addams families daughter Wednesday, the ultimate princess of darkness has a shocking secret that only her father Gomez knows. She has fallen in love with a sweet young man from a respectable family. With her cherished mother Mortica in the dark will Gomez manage to keep his daughters secret until the two families meet for a fatal dinner with hilarious consequences.

Leon Davies was Gomez and Rachel Davies was perfect as Mortica great vocals and excellent characterisations from both of these characters. Their daughter Wednesday and son Pugsley were perfectly cast. The rest of the family Grandma(Anna Hough), Uncle Fester (Mark Horn) were well cast loved Marks rendition of 'The Moon and Me'. Alex Catana as Lurch had good facial expressions througout and kept us waiting till the end for his one line. Salli Gage through all her inhibitions to the wind in a very funny song ' Waiting' which was part of the finale to the first act she was well supported by Adam Chester as her long suffering husband Mal.

The rest of the company all sang and moved well under good strong direction.

A lot of hard work had obviously gone into the show and it paid off. Thank you for an entertaining evening.
