Thank You For The Music

What a wonderful afternoon's entertainment this was.  Thank you to The Great Horton Theatre Company for their festive welcome and afternoons entertainment of a selection of Christmas numbers and a few well-known favourites.

The Compere, John Mason, introducing each item of the programme with interesting and extensive knowledge.  The programme started with a lovely rendition of 'Thank You for the Music” which was also the title of the show.  Rosie Walsh the Musical Director had done a great job of ensuring wonderful harmonies and dynamics in every number, which included The Colours of Christmas, God Only Knows, Stop the Cavalry and I Believe in Father Christmas to name but a few.

Well, done to those members who either led or performed solos, my favourites by Val Cosgrave “Let There Be Love” and “O Holy Night”.

There were also some well-chosen carols that the audience could sing along too.

The second half started with a Christmas Quiz and continued with the same excellent singing and choice of programme, really putting the appreciative audience into the true spirit of Christmas.
