One of the best productions I have seen from Stowmarket Ops, brilliantly cast with dialogue straight from the county of Wessex very cleverly translated from Suffolk no-one slipped up!
Excellent casting here. Tess was Jessica Bradley, an Oscar winner if ever there was one! Angel Clare was Johnny Ellis and Alec d’Urberville was Callum Limer. Both these gentlemen were excellent in their parts, one being a lovable hero and the other the lovable villain!
No scenery by you didn’t miss it as the properties were efficient to set the various scenes and locations.
It was good to see Anne Lilley on stage as Mrs. D’Urberville and popular SODS actor Nigel Ramsden playing two parts, the Reverend Clare and Farmer Crick.
I particularly liked Tess’s family played by Kenny Sayer as the father, Meryl Bunce the Mother and the children who were all quite special. Saying that, all the cast were very individual in their own characters and as I say never slipping on their accents.
I am inclined to say to Stowmarket – “Now follow that” but of course I know they will be up to their usual standard for their annual Panto.
However, well done indeed to everyone involved with this production, from the principals to the scene and prop movers, a most enjoyable evening.
