An excellent production of a popular John Godber play based on a comprehensive school somewhere in England in the 1980`s. It requires 3 actors - 1 male & 2 females - to play 20 characters,  a daunting prospect for any cast.  Howard Corrin, Amanda Martin and Laura Whitelaw met this challenge with great panache, talent and versatility.  The set was very imaginative and decorated with graffiti which was painted by Max Metcalfe.  The music, lighting and sound were in keepiing with the period and provided great backing for the performance. The acting was of a very high standard with every character well established throughout.  There was a tendency to shout which sometimes prevented clarity of the script but this did not detract from the overall performance of a very thought provoking but witty piece of theatre.
