One of the best musical productions we have seen from Stowmarket with a good cast, set and choreography.
Jo Jones was outstanding as Charity, a difficult role as it calls for some hectic singing and dancing, but Jo pulled this off with gusto.
Michael Jewell did very well in the part of Oscar Lindquist, a difficult role, and it must have been hard to keep up the character of this strange chap. The scenes in the lift with Charity were very funny, I know what it feels like to be stuck in one! Peter Hawkes was a great Big Daddy Burbeck. The Rhythm of Life being another highlight.
I very much enjoyed the number when the trio of girls Rachel Warner as Helen, Angie Welham-Hagan as Carmen joined Charity,
To sum up, this was a very enjoyable production with everyone at their best. The costumes were good and colourful. It is a shame that the show had to be produced on a small cinema stage, but scenic designers Colin Hart, and Lynda Phillips and the set-builders pulled it off as usual. I believe the Regal is to be extended in the near future, which will be a great advantage.
Many thanks for a most enjoyable evening, well done to all concerned.
