Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

Greg Pichery should be justly proud of the cast of Sweeney from chorus to principals.  The atmosphere of  London street sounds and smog was created the moment you entered the auditorium (a bit too overpowering sitting near the front!!) The story was well told with excellent diction throughout. The principals were well cast with Andy Brown giving a quieter approach to Sweeney, Debbie Longley making the part of Mrs Lovett her own they were well supported by Jak Beasley as Anthony and Tilly Goodwin as Johanna .  There were very good  performances from Charlie Harris -  Pirelli, Ryan Green the Beadle, Peter Etherington  - The Judge and Dan Hand - Tobias. James Gutteridge is to be complimented for his orchestra and the work achieved on the vocals.  The set worked well and there were no sound problems.
