A positive interpretation of a difficult piece. Stephen Sondhiem`s musical was well presented by L.E.O.S.
Adam Guest, as the menacing Sweeney Todd maintained his tortured soul throughout and was well supported by Carrie Ann Corner as the not so innocent Mrs Lovett. The company were well drilled and contributed greatly to the production. There were good performances from Rebekah Fearn as Johanna and John Morrison as Anthony. Andrew Elcock as the evil Judge Turpin, and Martin Briggs as Beadle Bamford played their roles admirably, and I was impressed by Curtis Salmon as Tobias Ragg, one to look out for.
Musical direction was good with a very tight orchestra. The set was very well thought out and worked well. Full marks to John and the stage crew. On the down side, the lighting and sound was somewhat disjointed, but that didn`t detract from the overall production.
