Masqueraders Theatrical Society MTS before and Andrew Lloyd's Webber's Sunset Boulevard, a musical set in the 1940’s, we start the show with a gunshot.  Joe then takes us through the story the events that led us to this moment.

The principal cast comprises of Alex Lewis played Joe Gillis, always an excellent performance, both in vocals and character.

Richard Yates as Max Norma’s Butler, a lovely part of which Rich showed the caring nature of the character with ease.

Georgie Norwood as Betty Schaefer was excellent doing a lovely role and beautifully done by Georgie.

The smaller roles of Cecil B DeMille (Andrew Sutton) Jack Deaves (Artie Green) Ashley Blackstock (Sheldrake/Manfred) were all very well played.

However, the star of the cast was the outstanding performance of Karen Deaves as Norma Desmond  with excellent characterization vocal ability.  Karen showed the aging movie star characterization with expressive movement which matched the Character. This is a extremely large part where characterization was key, and Karen dealt with the slow decline of the character perfectly.

The costumes and set were excellent with lightly adding to the performance the chorus added to an enjoyable evening.
