It was with great pleasure that I was able to sit back and enjoy all the songs of my youth. Summer Holiday was a spectacular film in its day and the members of LYAMC brought back to life this great film as a stage show. The production with Steven Wooton as Don romped along with great pace and enthusiasm. Clare McCreadie played the part of Barbara, the american heiress. Her mother Stella was played by Mhari Summers. The company gave their heart and souls into all the large musical numbers which encouraged members of the audience to sing along. The stage at times was dominated by a large London Bus which the characters made full use of the levels etc it presented. The vocal singing by all the company is always of a very high standard and this year was no exception. Susan French as vocal coach has a way of bringing the best out of the company. Peter Robinsons orchestra led the way with that 1960s swing that made all Cliff Richard songs very enjoyable. The level of technical support given to all LY shows is of a very high standard and deserves to be commended. Congratulations to one and all on a very professional production.
